Friends of Beckley School

Friends of Beckley School (Parent-Teacher Association)

The school has an active parent teacher association called ‘Friends of Beckley School’ or ‘FOBS’. Please look out for future events advertised on our Facebook page: Facebook.com/BeckleyFOBS

Contact us by email: beckleyfobs@gmail.com

Regular and one-off donations to Friends of Beckley School (FOBS) enrich school life by funding new IT equipment, school building updates and school activities and workshops that wouldn't be possible without your help.

The form accepts both debit and credit cards. If you are a UK tax payer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box so we can claim an additional 25% on your donation.

We take your privacy very seriously. Your details will only be shared with the people who administer the Donorbox system. For further details, see our Privacy Policy.

Further Information

FOBS is run by a committee elected at an A.G.M. in the Autumn term. All parents are automatically members and there is no subscription fee.

The association organises several fund-raising events, many of which have become annual attractions. In addition The Friends offer practical help to the school in many ways and are involved with social events throughout the year.

The school has enjoyed great support from the association over the years and major funds have been provided for IT equipment, updating the fabric of the school and specific additional school activities, i.e. science week.

Thanks to the continued and generous support of the parents the association is able to provide many such extras for the benefit of the children.

They can be contacted on beckleyfobs@gmail.com

Friends of Beckley School is a registered charity in England and Wales (1160166)

FOBS Privacy Policy

At Friends of Beckley School (FOBS) we take data privacy very seriously. We will never publicly share information about you, your orders or your donations for any reason.

We securely collect and process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Processing online donations
  • Recording order information
  • Claiming Gift Aid on offline donations

Online Donations

When you make a donation to FOBS at https://donorbox.org/fobs, your name, address, debit/credit card details and postcode are collected and processed by a donations-administration platform called Donorbox and a payment-processing platform called Stripe. View their privacy policies here:

https://donorbox.org/privacy

https://stripe.com/gb/privacy

We use these platforms to track donations for tax and administration purposes and to claim Gift Aid (see below) where eligible. When we log in to these platforms we can see your name, address, email address and the last four digits of your card number. It is not possible for us to trigger further donations or change your donation amount – nor would we want to.

The login details for Donorbox and Stripe are known only to the FOBS data privacy officer and any FOBS committee members who submit donation and Gift Aid information to HMRC.

Recording Order Information

From time to time we may run programmes such as FOBS Christmas Trees to provide a product or service to our supporters in a mutually beneficial manner.

To run such a programme we need to record specific information about you such as your name, address, email address and phone number.

We delete this information at the end of each programme.

Claiming Gift Aid on Offline Donations

Voluntary donations and those collected via sponsorship programmes and non-uniform days may be eligible for Gift Aid. Gift Aid is an initiative that allows charities to collect the tax you have already paid on the money you donate to us. In simple terms this means we get an additional 25p for every £1 donated to us.

To register your donations for Gift Aid you must be a UK taxpayer. You only need to register for Gift Aid once to allow us to claim it on any donation you make.

To claim Gift Aid we need to collect and store your name and address along with details of your donations in a password-protected spreadsheet where the password is known only to the FOBS data privacy officer and any FOBS committee members who submit donation information to HMRC.

If at any time you would like to know what information we hold about you or request its removal, please contact the FOBS data privacy officer at leonard.cat@gmail.com.
